I believe that every woman deserves a doula, not just those who have the privilege.
I believe that every woman, no matter how she gives birth, can benefit greatly from a birth doula.
I believe that every woman has the power within her to give birth exactly how her baby needs to be born.
I believe that every woman should be in control of her birth with truly informed consent from her care providers no matter where and how she gives birth.
I believe that every birth IS a birth, no matter the trimester, the place, the method, or the outcome.
I believe it is an honor to asked into the sacred spaces of someone else’s pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, and carefully treat it as such.

Services

Birth Doula- $600
Service includes:

  • A free, no obligation initial meeting over the phone or in a neutral public place (park, library, coffee shop, etc) to decide if we're a good fit

  • Up to two, 1–2 hour prenatal meetings to discuss desires, expectations, birth plan, options, and getting to know one another so I can be the best possible support for you and your family

  • If desired, accompanying you to one prenatal appointment with your care provider (more appointments available for a small additional cost)

  • Unlimited email, text, and phone call support from four weeks before your estimated due date through four weeks after your due date

  • Attending your birth as a continuous physical, emotional, and mental support for you and your family, and help establishing feeding (whatever method you choose) after delivery

  • If desired, photos for your personal use taken with a high quality DSLR during labor and birth as I am able*

  • One postpartum visit to check on you and Baby physically and emotionally, answer any questions about the birth or postpartum, and help you process the birth experience (more postpartum visits are available for additional cost)


*I cannot guarantee a particular number of photos, nor specific photos to be taken. My role primarily is as labor and birth support. I offer photos of the process as I am able to capture them as a secondary role to help preserve your memories and experiences. I have 14 years of experience using my DSLR and basic editing software, but I am not a professional photographer or photo editor.


Postpartum Visits- $20 per hour (3-hour minimum contract)
Service includes:

  • feeding support

  • help with infant care

  • emotional support for Mom and Dad

  • light housework, small meal/snack preparation for Mom, and care of Baby and older siblings to help Mom so she can shower, nap, etc.

  • discuss physical recovery from birth☼

Placenta Encapsulation- $200

Service includes:

  • Prenatal consultation(by phone or teleconference) regarding method, usage, risks, service contract, etc, answering any questions you may have

  • Pick-up from the birthing place immediately after birth

  • Sterile processing via Traditional Chinese Medicine methods*

  • Delivery of a shelf-stable jar of the dehydrated product with recommended instructions for use to your home or desired meeting place within 48 hours of pick-up

*I DO NOT perform raw preparation methods. No exceptions.

The “Dude-La” Life: Candid Preparation for Supporting Your Partner in Birth and Beyond- $75

This unique partner prep course is taught by Josh who has supported Megan through seven very unique pregnancies and births, and has gained a wealth of hands-on wisdom as well as technical knowledge of pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and newborn experiences. He has also benefited from years of familiarity with Megan’s job as a doula. He was lovingly dubbed, “The Dude-la” by many different care providers for how involved, supportive, and knowledgeable he is through it all.

Service includes:

  • Three 45-minute sessions via teleconference with Josh, covering pregnancy, birth, and postpartum and newborn care

  • Live question and answer time during each session to talk through any questions or concerns in a supportive, non-judgmental environment

  • Confidential email support for up to three weeks after your partner has given birth
